There Is A New Party In Power In Manitoba

The NDP  not only won last night's election but will have a majority government for the next 4 years and Wab Kinew becomes the new premier.

Kinew making history as the first ever First Nations Premier in the province's history.

It was a clean sweep for the NDP across the North with Incumbent Tom Lindsay winning the Flin Flon Constituency convincingly over Charlotte Laroque of the PC'S.

Lindsay says he is honored and really looking forward to representing Flin Flon and area for the next 4 years.

" Well certainly it has always been a honor to represent people in the Flin Flon constituency, the challenge for me now will to make sure our voice is heard in government. It was heard loud and clear when we were in opposition , so I need to make sure they hear us in government now. I want to thank everyone who supported me and I hope to earn not just their support but the support and trust for people who didn't vote for me. They realize that I am here for the best things of this constituency."

Once again in the Pas, NDP  incumbent Amanda Lathlin defeated the PC candidate Al McGlauchlan and Alvina Rundle the Liberal represenitive.

In Thompson, New Democrat  Eric Redhead defeated Linda Markus of the PC'S and Roy Jemison of the Liberals.
