Snow Lake RCMP and RCMP Major Crime Services investigate youth shooting
On July 26th Snow Lake RCMP received a report that a 12-year-old female from Pukatawagan was the victim of a gunshot wound while at a remote cabin on Burntwood Lake. Two family members were able to travel to the Burntwood Lake Lodge, where they called for assistance.
Helicopter EMS (HEMS) flew to the lodge and then travelled by boat to the remote camp to provide medical treatment. The injured youth was transported with serious injuries to Winnipeg hospital, where she remains.
RCMP officers travelled by helicopter and boat to access the scene.
RCMP Major Crime Services continues to investigate.
