Lifesaving Skills Can be Developed at a Young Age.

This is National Drowning Prevention Week. Life Saving Society Manitoba’s, Dr. Christopher Love, discusses how to the skills needed to stay safe in the water.

The big thing is everyone should learn how to swim to survive. Learn the three skills that could potentially save your life. Which are; can you roll in a disorientating  manner into deep water, tread water for one minute – that is keep your head above the surface , and swim 50 meters nonstop. All as a continuous  sequence. Those skills can save your life.

Life Saving Society Manitoba is partnering with Flin Flon Rec to host Swim to Survive Swimming Lessons Aug 15-17 at Channing beach from 1 -4pm. Basic lessons will be available for kids aged 6 and up. It is free but you must register as soon as possible. Email kandersen@flinflon.ca to sign up
