The 11th annual Beat the Chief competition will be held Sunday in conjunction with the Flin Flon Fire Department’s annual open house.  Fire Chief Jim Petrie says the competition is held to promote the well being of the Fire Department and the physical abilities of the firefighters.  Following this competition Petrie invites all children to take part in a junior event. He say a couple of years ago they started the Junior Beat the Chief and this was for the well being of the community as a whole.  He says they do this with the kids and all children are welcome to participate getting to use a hose and then there’s food for all the kids so they want a lot of children to come out and have fun.

Beat the Chief gets underway at 10 Sunday morning at the fire hall. Petrie invites anyone interested to come out and watch and enjoy a barbeque.
