Manitoba reported 239 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.5 percent.  Of the new cases 108 are in Winnipeg and 71 in Southern health with lower numbers in other regions including 16 in Northern health.  Of the total 70,785 identified cases 1799 are active, 67,626 people have recovered and 139 are in hospital with 33 in intensive care.  Two new cases of the Omicron variant have been identified for a total of eight in the province.

Saskatchewan health reported 49 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified bringing the seven day average of new cases to 52.  Of the total 82,069 identified cases 548 are active, 80,579 people have recovered and 107 are in hospital.  Far Northeast Two again reports no new cases and there are no active cases in the zone.
