New COVID Cases Have Gone Down in Manitoba Regions.

Manitoba public health reported 215 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Thursday bringing the five day test positivity rate to 2.7 percent.  They also reported six new deaths.  Of 36 new cases reported for today 19 were in Winnipeg, 20 in Southern health, seven in Interlake Eastern and no new cases in other two regions including Northern health.  Of the total 59 thousand reported cases 422 are active, 57,380 people have recovered and 74 are in hospital with 12 in intensive care.

Medical Lead for the Vaccine Implementation Task Force Dr. Joss Reimer says they are preparing to provide vaccines in schools. She says they don’t have a definite number as to how many kids they expect, they know it will vary a lot from school to school.  She notes their goal is just to make things as convenient as possible for families, for youth with just one more option to use when they want to get the vaccine.

Of the 36 new cases reported today 22 were not vaccinated, seven were partly vaccinated and 7 were fully vaccinated.
