Manitoba 150 announced in the spring Flin Flon would receive an outdoor mural as part of their Wall to Wall Mural and Culture Festival Rural Mural Tour.  The mural titled Spirit Back by artist KC Adams has now been installed on the front of Arctic Beverages on Green Street. She is a Nehiyaw, Anishinaabe and British artist now living in Winnipeg who works in several mediums and has received major awards for her work. In her description of Spirit Back Adams writes: “The work reflects my learning relationships between land, ancestral knowledge, memory and the sacredness of water. I used the imagery of birch bark and porcupine quills because of its connection to the natural world and technology in making cultural objects, canoes, baskets and sunglasses.  However they were more than just utilitarian objects, they held knowledge bundles (traditional teachings) passed onto the next generation.”
