Hudbay Minerals reports a fatality occurred at its Lalor Mine in Snow Lake Saturday Evening.  The incident occurred during underground mining operations when a worker from Brandon employed by a service provider was fatally injured from a fall while working at a height. No other personnel were injured and the scene has been secured. All underground mining operations at Lalor mine have been suspended while an investigation is completed.

Company President Peter Kukielski stated their hearts go out to the individual’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. He noted the safety and health of their work force remains their utmost priority adding they will continue to provide support to all those who were affected and they remain more committed than ever to their objectives of zero harm.
