Hospitalization Numbers are a Concern in Manitoba While They Have Dropped in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 646 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the five day test positivity rate to 12.3 percent.  They also reported ten new deaths with five in Winnipeg, two in Southern health and one each in Northern, Prairie Mountain and Interlake Eastern regions.  Of the new cases reported Sunday 183 were in Winnipeg, 46 in Southern and 19 in Northern health with lower numbers on other regions.  A break down was not provided Saturday.  Active cased in Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage, Sherridon district are reported at 20.  Of the total 50,790 reported cases 4569 are active, 45,169 people have recovered and 308 are in hospital with 74 in intensive care.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan health reported 350 new cases brining the seven day average of new cases to 137.  They also reported two deaths with one each in Regina and South East zones. Of the new cases 108 were in Saskatoon, 46 in Regina with lower numbers in other zones including seven in Far North East.  Of the total 46,635 reported cases 1430 are considered active and 44,667 people have recovered with 109 in hospital which is their lowest number since November 28th with 25 in intensive care.  31 cases are active in the Far North East zone.  The start of the Step One Re-opening plan is now underway and you can find details on the plan at www.saskatchewan.ca/covid19.
