Manitoba and Saskatchewan Reported the Same Number of New COVID-19 Cases Over the Weekend.

Manitoba public health reported 535 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend bringing the five day test positivity rate up to 7.1 percent.  They also reported three additional deaths with two in Winnipeg and one in Prairie Mountain health region.  Of the new cases 371 were in Winnipeg, 46 in Northern health and 59 in Prairie Mountain.  They reported five active cases in the Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Cranberry Portage,Sherridon district.  Of the total 37,598 reported cases 2024 are active, 34,607 individuals have recovered and 139 are in hospital with 37 in intensive care.  The total number of reported variants of concern cases is 1309 of which 558 are active with 30 reported so far in the Northern health region.

             

Saskatchewan health also reported 535 new COVID-19 cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 251.  They reported four new deaths with two each in Regina and the North West zone.  Of the new cases 191 were in Regina, 97 in Saskatoon and 45 in North West with lower numbers in other zones.  Of the total 39,932 reported cases 2515 are considered active, 36,942 people have recovered and 186 are in hospital with 49 in intensive care.  6026 variants of concern cases have been reported with the Far North East still holding at two.
