MP Niki Ashton reports one in five Canadians are unable to afford the medication their doctors prescribe.  She says the solution is clear we need a national universal public pharmacare program now more than ever.  She explains the NDP caucus put forward an Act to Enact the Canada Pharmacare Act which lays out the path to establishing a universal, single payer, comprehensive and public pharmacare plan but the Liberals and Conservatives voted against it while 88 percent of Canadians support pharmacare.  She adds they know that families from coast to coast are struggling to afford their medication and they will continue to fight to make a national pharmacare program part of our Medicare program.
