Variants of Concern COVID-19 Cases are on The Rise in Regina.

Saskatchewan health reported 176 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 134.  They also announced three additional deaths with one each in the Regina, South Central and Saskatoon zones.  Of the new cases 67 are in Regina and 31 in Saskatoon with lower numbers in other zones including ten in Far North East.  They also reported 77 presumed cases of variants of concern in the Regina zone with a total of 70 variant cases already confirmed in the province.  They are asking all who work in Regina to re-commit to best prevention practices to protect against COVID-19 noting many of Regina’s outbreaks are the result of people going to work and public places while symptomatic urging people with symptoms to stay home and get tested.

             

Of the total 30,369 reported cases 1437 are considered active and 28,528 people have recovered.
