A Death Related to COVID-19 Has Been Reported in The Pas.

Manitoba Acting Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Jazz Atwal announced 57 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 5.2 percent.  He also reported six additional deaths with four in Winnipeg, one in Southern health and one in the Northern region a man in his 70s linked to outbreaks at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home and St. Anthony’s General Hospital dialysis unit in The Pas.  Of the new cases 31 are in the Northern region and 21 in Winnipeg with single digits in other regions. Of the total 30,417 reported cases 1573 are considered active, 27,985 individuals have recovered and 255 people are in hospital with 34 in intensive care.

             

Focused immunization teams expect to immunize approximately 26 hundred residents of personal care homes this week with their second dose of vaccine.  All personal care home residents are expected to be fully protected against COVID-19 with a second dose by the end of the month.  You can calculate where you fit into the priority list for vaccine at www.manitoba.ca/vaccine.
