Manitoba Has Lifted a Limit on Prescriptions.

Manitoba Health Minister Cameron Friesen announced the government will be effective Monday removing the one month limit on prescription renewal.  He says Manitobans who have prescriptions will be able to fill them as per their prescriber’s directions including up to a 3 month supply as long as the drug is not affected by a shortage at the time of the fill.

In March the government moved to restrict prescription fills to one month in response to global shortages.  The minister also announced a time limited COVID-19 drug shortage working group responsible for ongoing surveillance and monitoring of drug availability in the province.
