Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage postponed their annual fishing derby Sunday because of the heavy snowfall warning. The 11th annual FCI Recreation and Junior Council Fishing Derby will now be held this coming Sunday afternoon on First Cranberry Lake. One of the organizers Shannon Burrows says they have a good line of prizes with first prize one thousand dollars, second prize 500 dollars and third prize is a brand new gas powered ice auger. She adds they are fundraising for their May long weekend trip to the West Edmonton Mall. The derby runs from 1 to 3 Sunday afternoon on First Cranberry Lake in Cranberry Portage with access by Viking Lodge. Tickets are still available at Wildwood Way and the Coffee Shop in Cranberry or on the ice at the derby.
