Operation Christmas Child is again underway in the Flin Flon area. The Baptist Church is the collection center and their Pastor Jim Galbraith is asking you to fill shoe boxes with toys and other items to be delivered to children in countries where there is war, natural disasters and famine. He explains the one thing they like to do is have a wow item like maybe a deflated soccer ball with a pump or a really nice doll and then the usual items are school supplies and hygiene items except no liquids and on a general scale nothing war related like knives or toy soldiers and sometimes if you’re doing for an older child you can put in something like sewing equipment or tools.
Galbraith adds boxes can be picked up at Dollar Store With More or at participating churches and returned there or to Pharmasave. Final collection week is November 5th to 11th.
