Community Representatives Joined Members of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation at an Official opening yesterday.

A ribbon was cut officially opening the Tim Hortons franchise at the Petro Canada Center in Creighton.  The Center and the franchise are owned by the Peter Ballantyne Group of Companies and PBCN Chief Peter A. Beatty praised the partnerships that developed the franchise on the Thomas Morin Indian Reserve in Creighton.  FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron said benefits will go on into the future. He said that sign Tim Hortons says revenue, it says opportunity and it says jobs, for hundreds of years that’s what that’s going to do so let’s celebrate the next 10 or 20 years when this Tim Hortons franchise hits one million dollars for the towns of Creighton, Denare Beach and Flin Flon but more importantly the benefits go to the PBCN chief and council and their communities.

Former Grand Chief Ron Michel said we have to work together with communities like Creighton to develop economic opportunities noting PBCN’s population is 11 thousand of which 6 thousand are from new born to 20 years old.
