Cancer Survivors are Encouraged to Be Part of the Relay For Life.

The Relay For Life takes place September 9th from noon to midnight at Queen’s Park to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Society.  The Committee’s Margot Gray has put a call out to cancer survivors to register.  She says it’s just a general call out for anybody that’s been affected by cancer, it doesn’t matter what type of cancer.  She says they have a reception tent and they usually have goody bags for everybody but it’s mostly to celebrate those who have survived cancer.  She notes they would love to have people do testimonials up on the stage if they are so inclined even though people are shy to do that but it’s a great thing because it shares hope with anybody else or somebody who’s just been newly diagnosed to hear other stories.

Gray adds the survivors take part in the first lap and are joined by their caregivers for the second lap. If you need information or wish to register call Cliff Melnick at 204-687-4135 or go to the Relay link at www.flinflononline.com or go to www.relayforlife.ca.
