A Home Suffered a Lot of Damage on Thursday.

Around 3:06 Thursday afternoon the Flin Flon Fire Department was called to a fire at 53 Hill Street.  Fire Chief Chad Cooper reports upon arrival they found heavy smoke and fire were visible from the rear of the home.  He says fire crews made an aggressive interior fire attack and search for possible occupants.

Cooper adds this was a difficult fire to initially fight.  He says fire crews encountered high heat and poor visibility inside the structure with limited to no access to the rear of the structure and close proximity of the neighboring structure.

The fire cause significant damage to the home and is believed to have originated in the basement.  It is not being treated as suspicious and the cause is being investigated.  The occupant was not home at the time of the fire.  22 fire fighters attended the incident and fire damage is estimated at 36 thousand dollars.
