Motorists Should Slow Down on Green Street.

Two area residents approached Flin Flon City Council at their meeting Tuesday night about a speed concern.  They say motorists are traveling down Green Street from the Perimeter Highway to the zoo area at a high rate of speed. Councillor Leslie Beck who heads the Traffic Commission suggested they approach the RCMP and discuss the issue with one of the Corporals.  Mayor Cal Huntley said they could also send a letter to the Traffic Commission which includes the RCMP and approach Manitoba Public Insurance to get their speed sign to use in the area.

In other business Council gave first reading to an amendment to the Traffic bylaw to set up a three way stop at Aspen Grove and Oak Avenue to control the traffic flow in the area of the Aqua Center.  They also agreed to again take part in the Manitoba Governments sewer back up valve subsidy program that subsidizes the cost of sewer back up valves for home owners.

Council congratulated the Trout Festival committee for a very successful festival with all events well attended. And Councillor Leslie Beck thanked the Horticultural Society for their work in planting flowers around the community.
