Your Drive Down Highway Ten Wont Look Much Different This Summer

Last October Premier Greg Selinger announced a 20 million dollar project to upgrade a 21 kilometer stretch of number ten highway from Bakers Narrows to Flin Flon starting this spring.  The contract for the project has been awarded but Ron Weatherburn from Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation says you won’t see work starting soon. He explains this is going to be the busiest construction season they’ve had for Manitoba highways and they have a huge number of paving projects out and awarded to contractors.  He says the one up on number ten is one of them and their contractor has indicated that he’s going to other projects first and they will try to get up there in the fall as long as the weather and everything goes very well for them.

Weatherburn adds with the weather it may not get done until next year by the plan for now is for this fall.
