The Golden Gals Provincial Curling Championship is underway in Virdon featuring 12 rinks from right across Manitoba.

Two rinks are from Flin Flon including the defending champs, the Lorna Rice rink and the Debbie McNeill rink.

The Rice rink is off to a good start beating the Deprez team from Stonewall 7 to 6 in their opening game.

The McNeill rink lost their first game to Fedak out of Dauphin.

Both teams will play their next game in the 3pm draw today. Rice  is taking on Haas from Sprigfield and McNeill will play the Newton rink from Shoal Lake.
