The Wins Keep Piling Up

Another perfect weekend for the Flin Flon Bombers who swept a pair of games against the Kindersley Klippers winning 8 to 2 on Friday and hard fought 4 to 3 win Saturday.

Friday was a special tribute to former Bomber Gerry Hart with Gerry's son Jordy, wife Liz and nephew Ryan who were on the ice for a special ceremony prior to puck drop. Gerry passed  away in May and was a great ambassador for the Bombers and the City Of Flin Flon.

Austin Mattes put together a great video that ran on the score clock before the game and it was very emotional with a lot of tears shed.

The Bombers were able to build on the great atmosphere and fired 46 shots on the tandem of Logan Faulk and Cody Jaman Friday night.

Jaman came in relief of Faulk who got in a scrap  with Kenny Marquart late in the third.

The crowd and the Benches errupted but the league office felt different inssuing Marquart a five  game suspension and Faulk received three games.

Friday was a game that Dawson Karol and Brock Mueller won't forget as they led the way with three points each including a pair of goals.

Alexi Sylvestre, Liam Bridger, Cole Tanchuk and a pair from newly acquired Carter Anderson rounded out the scoring.

Austin Osiowy and Zach Anderson scored for the Klippers.

Saturday was a lot tighter and Flin Flon had to work a little harder to pull out the 4 to 3 win.

Kylynn Olafson had the hot hand and picked up his first two goals of the year and assisted on Sylvestre's game winning goal on the powerplay for a three point night.

This was huge for Olafson who has battled injuries right since training camp.

Alexi Sylvestre scored the other two including the game winner to give him 8 on the year and three behind league leader and team mate Jacob Vockler.

Harmon Laser Hume was back between the pipes and stopped 29 out of 32 including some big saves in the third when the Klippers were pressing.

Tylin Hilbig, Keenan Ingram and Cam Perlinger replied for Kindersley with Cody Jaman stopping 47 out of 51 shots.

That is 10 straight wins for Flin Flon who improve to 11-0-1 on the year and remain first overall , 5 points up on Melfort and Humboldt.

Kindersley dropped a 4 to 2 decision in Laronge yesterday to go winless on the trip and fall to 3-6-1-1.

A good test for the Bombers tomorrow as they travel to the Cage to face the Nipawin Hawks for an 8PM Manitoba start time. Flin Flon beat Nipawin on opening night and the Hawks will be looking to exact revenge.
