Kodiaks Drop Their Final Regular Season Game

It wasn't the way the Creighton Kodiaks wanted to wrap up the Saskatchewan 6 man football regular season yesterday afternoon.

The Kodiaks were hosting the Shellbrook Aardvarks at the Creighton Field and got off to a great start.

Creighton faked the handoff to Payton Pelletier and Jordan Gorrell took the ball  into the end zone for an early 6-0 Creighton lead.

That was one of the few bright spots as Shellbrook took over after that and never looked back winning convincingly 45 to 12.

Penalties and mistakes were a big part of Creighton's downfall yesterday and Shellbrook was also very successful in  running the ball.

Owen Durette caught a nice pass from Kaleb Lykan late in the fourth quarter for the other Creighton touchdown.

Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk was very frustrated with yesterday's result. " We didn't come out very well and I was very disappointed with our intensity level right off the start. Yeah we scored the first touchdown and everything looked good and then we took penalty after penalty  after penalty. We didn't tackle, block properly, missed passes . There wasn't really anything out there that was great. What was really disappointing was I didn't see the intensity from the guys. Now we have to get prepared to get our mood up and that will be on me."

The Kodiaks finish the regular season at 1-3 and will head to Wakaw for the playoffs starting next Thursday.

Wakaw finished the regular season at 4-0 after beating Hague 38 to 26 yesterday.
