Bombers Continue To Pile On The Goals

Another weekend sweep and another 16 goals as the Flin Flon Bombers buried the Notre Dame Hounds in both games  at the Whitney Forum this past weekend.

Friday the Bombers took it to the Hounds 8 to 1 as Jacob Vockler continued his torrid pace,  scoring a pair of goals to give him a league leading 9 on the season.

Ashton Paul collected his first SJHL goal with Alexi Sylvestre, Trevor Stenglein, Justin Lies, Anthony Piccininno and Fabrice Bourgeois all finding the back of the net.

Cyprus Smith Davis scored the lone goal for Notre Dame.

Kenny Marquart got his second win of the year making 26 saves.

Johann Tremblay Kau was far busier and made 49 saves on 57 shots for the Hounds and was their lone bright spot.

Saturday, the Bombers continued right where they left off and picked up another lopsided win 8 to 2.

Hometown product Justin Lies had a great night collecting his first career regular season  SJHL hattrick including a short handed goal to seel the deal late in the third. That gives Lies 6 so far this year which is second on the team.

Hats buried the ice as there was a great crowd with many Flin Flon Minor Hockey players in attendance and they showed their appreciation for the home town captain.

Noah Holule leads all SJHL Defenseman in points with 11 as he scored his first two goals of the year. Other goals came from Alexi Sylvestre, Anthony Piccininno and Reid Arberry who got his first.

The Hound captain Carsin Bayliss got both their goals.

Harmon Laser Hume was back between the pipes for the Bombers and stopped 27 out of 29 while his counterpart Jesse Pye stopped 37 out of 45.

The Bomber powerplay is starting to find it's groove and was 3 for 11 and they killed all 6 Notre Dame powerplays.

Flin Flon has had no trouble filling the back of the net and has scored 34 goals in the last 4 games and lead the league with 40 in just 6 games. They will get a good test this week as they hit the road for 4 games in 5 nights starting tomorrow in Yorkton.

They will see the Hounds again on Wednesday and stops in Estevan  Friday and Weyburn on Saturday.

The Bombers return home on October the 20th to face the Kindersley Klippers.
