The Flin Flon Bombers have swung a big blockbuster trade with the Laronge Ice Wolves  just a couple weeks into the season.

 

The Bombers have picked up the rights to 20 year old defenseman Adam McNutt who most recently was playing with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.

 

McNutt has also played with the Saskatoon Blades and Regina Pats and played a handful of games with Laronge during the Covid season of 2019.

 

McNutt is coming off a season where he picked up 19 points in 60 games including 3 goals.

 

The Bombers parted company with some really good prospects including 19 year old forward Bailey Ewonus, 18 year old forward Jaden Beauchamp. 18 year old defenseman Ethan Andrews plus a PDF and a third round selection in the 2024 SJHL Draft.

 

Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan gave us the low down on how the trade went down. " We have had our hook in the water here for a while  looking for a defenseman with a veteran presence and we have a couple guys here that are familiar  with him . There are a lot of guys I know that really like him as a player and we did our homework on him and we did our best to try to acquire him. We gave up a lot of assets but we feel it is dealing from a position of strength and feel he is going to have a big impact on our back end."

 

McNutt will be in the lineup tonight as the Bombers will host the Notre Dame Hounds in a pair of games at the Whitney Forum.

 

Flin Flon is still unbeaten in regulation and bring a 3-0-1 record into their game tonight and are coming off one of their biggest weekends ever offensively with 18 goals in the last two games.

 

Notre Dame is the only team in the league still looking for their first win of the year and are 0 and 5 and really struggle to score goals with just 7 in their first 5 games.

 

Saying that,  you can't take anyone for granted and you have to go out and play.
