The Flin Flon Bombers and Laronge Ice Wolves will rekindle their rivalry with a home and home this weekend.

 

The Wolves make their way to the Whitney Forum tonight after opening the season with a loss to Melfort and a 3 to 2 shoot out win over Nipawin.

 

Flin Flon beat the Hawks on opening night and followed that up with a OT loss to the Mustangs in their home opener on Sayurday.

 

Tonight the Bombers will have a boost with the recent addition of Ashton Paul, who they picked up from the Blizzard earlier this week. Paul has been practising with the team all week and will make his Bombers debut tonight.

 

These Sherwood Division matchup's are especially important as you only play teams in your division 6 times, so you really have to take advantage of the points when you can get them.

 

Flin Flon took the season series 4-1-1 last year but points are always tough to come by and the Wolves have played quite well in Flin Flon through out the years. The Wolves are 5-8 in Flin Flon in the last 13 meetings.

 

Laronge is led offensively by Mason Bueckert, Dylan Handel, William Forsberg and Jacob Cossette who have combined for 10 points in the first two games.

 

A healthy Parker Layton on the back end should help too.

 

The top Flin Flon guns have had a slow start to the season and the top line of Jacob Vockler, Justin Lies and Alexi Sylvestre have not been able to muster a single point in the first two games. The addidtion of Ashton Paul should help a lot especially with the powerplay which is 0 for 13 to start the season.

 

The Wolves powerplay is slightly better at 2 for 13.

 

No broadcast of tonight's game on radio but we head to Laronge tomorrow for the re-match which is Truith and Reconcilliation Day.
