Bombers Roll Out Of Weyburn With 2 Points

The Flin Flon Bombers rolled into Weyburn on Saturday and finally got rewarded with some goals on their Southern road trip.

Flin Flon was trying to bounce back after back to back losses against Notre Dame and Estevan despite out shooting their opponents but not being able to hit the back of the net.

Zac Smith scored his 6th of the season  to open up the scoring late in the first period,   and the Bombers never looked back picking up the 6 to 4 victory.

Cole Duppereault and Jaxon Martens both scored a pair of goals with Jeremi Tremblay adding his 7th for the rest of the offense.

Cal Schell got the win to improve  to 8 and 3 on the season and continues to be one of the league's top goalies with a save % of .924.

Flin Flon once again out shot their opponent 41 to 29 and were 0 for 2 on the PP.

This was a big win as the Bombers remain first overall in the SJHL standings at 11-5. They lead the second place Humboldt Broncos by 2 points, but Humboldt does have 2 games in hand.

The Bombers will get a bit of a break before getting back on the ice Friday to face the Yorkton Terriers at the Whitney Forum.

After a bit of a slow start,  the Terriers are playing some better hockey going 5-5 in their last 10 and have also won their last 2.

This will be their second meeting of the season with the Bombers picking up the win at the Showcase back in September.

This will also be our next broadcast of Creighton Furniture Flin Flon Bomber Hockey with the Great North GM Coach's Show on the air at the usual time of 7:15.
