It is one of the most successful road trips down south in recent memory for the Flin Flon Bombers who came home with 7 out of a possible 8 points, after a 6-2 win in Estevan last night.
Crystopher Collin led the way with a pair of goals his third and fourth of the season. Other goal scorer's included Klymchuk(3),Hein (13),Hooper(5)and McKenzie(2).
Jacob Delorme got the start with Pierce Diamond getting suspended for his part in a line brawl the night before. Delorme was fantastik picking up his first SJHL victory in stopping 36 out of 38 Estevan shots.
Tristan DeRoose and Eddie Gallagher replied for the Bruins with Jake Anthony getting the start in goal giving up 5 goals on 25 shots. He was pulled early in the third period for Grant Boldt who stopped all 7 shots he faced.
Both teams got plenty of powerplay chances with the Bombers going 1 for 8 and the Bruins finished up 0 for 6.
Mike Reagan mentioned on last night's CFAR Post Game Show this was the most successful southern road swing he remembers in the last 13 seasons coaching the club.
The trip began with a 3-2 SO loss to Humboldt before convincing wins over Notre Dame 4-1, 6-3 over Weyburn and last night's 6-2 victory over Estevan.
The Bombers have also taken over sole possesion of first place in the Sherwood Division with a record of: 8-4-0-2. Flin Flon leads Melfort by 3 points and Nipawin by 4, but both teams have 3 games in hand.
Next up will be the much improvedYorkton Terriers who come to the Whitney Forum for a pair of games this weekend.
Yorkton is first place in their division with a record of 6-4-1 and have some very good offensive players. This should be a very entertaining matchup this weekend as these are two of the top offensive teams in the league.
The Bombers sit first in goals for, with 61 in 14 games, while Yorkton is second with 46 goals in 11 games.
