Volleyball Season Comes To An End

The High School Volleyball season came to an end for both Hapnot and Creighton this past weekend.

Both Senior Hapnot teams were in Winnipeg for Provincials and had good showings.

The Kings went 2-2 in round robin with wins over Dauphin and Sanford. Their losses came against the two top teams in the province, Calvin Christian and Linden Christian out of Winnipeg.

The Kings made it to the Quarter Finals before losing to Louis Riel 2-0.

The Queens dropped their first 3 matches to: Linden Christian, St. John's Ravencourt and Calvin Christian, before rallying to beat Sanford in their final round robin game and also reached the Quarters.

Virden beat Hapnot 2-0 before moving on to win it all.

Calvin Christian won the Boy's.

The Creighton Kodiak Boys were in Shaunavon for Saskatchewan Volleyball Provincials, and went in ranked no.2.

The Kodiaks lost their first game 2-1 to La Loche, but rebounded to beat Moose Jaw and Nipawin, before dropping their final round robin game to Melville.

Creighton went to the playoff round and lost to eventual champion's from Oxbow 2-0.

It was a tremendous Volleyball season which saw 5 banners awarded to Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan and all these teams will have a lot of players carried over to the next season.
