Bombers Hit The Road For Three

After a 4 day break the Flin Flon Bombers will hit the road for three including a stop in Humboldt tomorrow for a meeting with the Broncos.

Humboldt has already beaten the Bombers twice this season including a stunning 3 to 2 win two weeks ago at the Elgar Peterson Arena.

Flin Flon looked poised to pick up the victory with a 2 to 1 lead and just under two minutes remaining in regulation.

Connor Nolan would tie it with 1:36 remaing in regulation, then right off the next face off, Braiden Koran would take advantage of a Bomber miscue to bury the winner and steal the win.

This was one of those games where you just shake your head in disbelief as Flin Flon played so well but didn't get rewarded.

The Bombers continue to play well and are coming off a impressive weekend where they rolled over Melville out scoring them 11 to 3.

The nice thing is they are starting to get some secondary scoring and don't have to rely on the number one line so much. Easton Haygarth has 8 points in his last 4 games while his brother Chase is coming off a 3 point performance from Saturday.

Brandon Cianflone is also coming into his own with points in 8 of the last 10 games.

Goaltending continues to be solid with starter Jacob Delorme only losing once in regulation all season and the new addition Matt Sankner looks very good with a record of 2-1-1 and a sizzling save % of .935.

I think Humboldt is one of the most under rated teams in the league at 8-4-1-1. Head Coach Scott Barney has done a great job assembling a very quick skating team who are not fun to play against.

They are second in the Global Ag Risk Solution Division behind the front running Battleford Stars.

Flin Flon continues to battle for first in the Sherwood at 9-3-2, 3 points behind front running Melfort with two games in hand.

No matter what go's down you will have the best seat in the house with all three games of this road trip broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com.

After Thursday's game in Humboldt, the Bombers travel to Kindersley for two. We hit the air all three nights at 8:10 MB time.
