Minor Hockey AGM Highlights

Flin Flon Minor Hockey held their AGM last night at the Victoria Inn. President Darin Mansell chaired the meeting and thanked the entire board for another successful season.

Mansell came in late last year and after jumping a few hurdles they were able to get on track.

Among the highlights, were the Novice half ice program where they noticed the skill levels went up. The Bantam AA and Pee Wee AA'S also picked up Silver medals at Provincials and enrollment was up.

Mansell also attended the Norman Hockey AGM and reported that there will be a change in how teams will qualify for provincials. You will now have to play-off in your region, which could either happen at a tournament or special dates may be booked.

Minor Hockey is excited as it looks like they may have a Double A Midget team for the first time in a number of seasons but did mention that they are lacking referees.

Numbers are down and are hoping that some new kids will step up and take the referee clinics they will be offering.

Suzie Playford, the treasurer spoke and said that Minor Hockey turned a profit for the third straight year and they are in good financial standing. The Whitney Forum and Sportex will both race their ice rates, so enrollment fees will slightly increase this fall.
