Long Time Humboldt Resident Shares Thoughts

A tremendous amount of support continues to surround the Humboldt Broncos after their horrific bus crash which claimed 16 lives with the passing of trainer Dayna Brons earlier today.

I had a chance to catch up with former Bronco board member and local buisinesman Mike Yager who I got to know very well in my 20 plus years travelling to Humboldt.

Mike along with his wife Shannon own and operate Spotlight Sport and Corporite Wear and have been huge sponsors of the Humboldt Broncos for many years.

The Yagers have designed Humboldt Strong t-shirts and sweatshirts and are donating all the profits to the families that have been affected by the crash.

The response has been overwhelming with orders coming in from all over the world. Mike took some time to talk to us yesterday and was able to share how the citizens of Humboldt are banding together in one of the worst tragedies in the history of Saskatchewan.

Year End Interviews With Newton and Lanfermann

The Flin Flon Bombers season has come to an end and the future sure looks bright, with only four players not eligible to come back next season.

Saying that,  the four players who are all graduating due to age,  left a lasting legacy with the Maroon and White including captain Ben Lanfermann and goaltender Brenden Newton.

Both these players played their entire career in a Bomber uniform and had many big nights and memories about playing in Flin Flon.

I had a chance to sit down with these two great players at the Awards night last Thursday as we chatted about what it meant to be a Bomber.
