The Hooter Golf Classic will be taking place Sunday August the 2nd at the Phantom Lake Golf Club.

Tee times will start at 1, and you need to register at the Hooter by July the 30th. It is $40.00 to enter and that will include supper and prizes after the event at the bar.

The Hooter shuttle will also be running to make sure everyone gets a ride safe and sound to and from the bar.

The 2015 Tri-Service 102.9 CFAR Million Dollar Hole In One wrapped up Sunday night at the Phantom Lake Golf Club. Thousands of golf balls were hit throughout the course of the week at Foster Park leading up to the Semi-Finals and Finals at the Golf Club.

Dianne Russell, manager at 102.9 CFAR mentioned that this was the most successfull  in the history of the event over 13 years.

After 12 heats of  72 golfers playing off in the Semi's , it came down to 3 local golfers in the Final.

Trevor Fox finished first firing a shot 23 feet, 8 inches from the pin. Shawn Frazer who had the best qualifying shot came second at 33 feet, 9 and 3 quarter inches. Jason Mucha was third at 74 feet and 8 and a half inches.

A big thanks to the Tri- Service group from the Rotary, Lions and Kinsmen who volunteered countless hours and once again spear headed the event. A big thank you to the wonderful citizens of Flin Flon who came out and supported this event, we couldn't of done it without you.

Also,  we could not of done this without the City of Flin Flon and the Phantom Golf Club. Thank you for your contributions.

Proceeds from the event this year will be donated to the Flin Flon Ski Club.

The Flin Flon Extreme Hockey School will be back at the Whitney Forum this August.

Rob Abbot will be the head instructor this year and will be joined by Bomber Assistant Coach's Gary Childerhose and Chris Bortis.

A number of Bomber players will also be helping out including Simon Hofley, Alex Smith, Tyson Empey and Brandon Switzer.

Head Coach and GM of the Bombers Mike Reagan returns as the camp director and is very excited to return to the longest running hockey school in the North. Reagan has also pointed out that this school continues to develop and evolve and are very committed to the kids in the North and realize the importance in keeping it going.

The school will start with the regular programs August the 17th to the 21st, and the Specialty Clinics August the 24th to the 26th.

There is something for every age group and if you sign up before July the 27th you could win a draw for a complete refund.

The Phantom Lake Golf Club will be hosting the Ladies Open Sunday July the 26th with tee times starting at 11.

$30.00 entry fee with meal and prizes.

They will also be hosting a mixed 2-ball this Saturday July the 18th, with tee times starting at 3. $30.00 entry fee with meal and prizes.

The Flin Flon Lion's Club hosted their second annual BMX and Skateboard competition at the Flin Flon Skatepark this past Saturday.

The Flin Flon Bombers have released their schedule for the 2015-16 season.

The Bombers will play 58 games, 26 at home and 26 on the road with 2 games scheduled for the Showcase in Warman October the 4th to the 7th.

Key games to keep an eye on include a home in home with the Nipawin Hawks to open the season Sept the 18th and 19th.

The Bombers are in Nipawin on Friday, back at the Whitney Forum for the home opener, Saturday  September the 19th.

Flin Flon will play 6 out of their first 10 games at home and kick off their first big road trip of the season October the 27th in Humboldt, Oct 28th in Notre Dame and Oct the 30th and 31st in Weyburn and Estevan.

The last game of 2015 will be played in Kindersley Sunday December the 20th, before a 16 day break. Flin Flon will start 2016 by hosting the Yorkton Terriers, Tuesday January the 5th.

The Bombers close out the regular season with their last road game in Laronge Saturday March the 5th, and final home game against Nipawin on Tuesday March the 8th.

Matchups within their  division include 6 meetings against Nipawin and Melfort and 8 games against Laronge.
