Bombers Face Off With Hawks

The biggest game of the season for the Bombers, who host the Nipawin Hawks at the Whitney Forum tonight and absolutely need to win this game.

The Bombers are barely hanging on to their playoff lives, tied with Laronge for the final playoff spot with 32 points, but are certainly not out of things with the new SJ playoff format.

If the Bombers finish first in the Sherwood Division, would be guaranteed a top three seed.

Flin Flon trails the front running Hawks by four points, but Nipawin does have two games in hand and have beaten Flin Flon in both their meetings so far this season.

We caught up to Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan who had this to say about tonight's game:

" I think we are playing a lot of big games lately, and if we want to finish first, we have to be able to beat the Nipawin Hawks, Melfort Mustangs and Laronge Ice Wolves." " We have to close that gap with Nipawin, we haven't had a lot of success lately, but it has been one of those seasons with lots of highs and lows and hopefully we will peak tonight."

The Bombers are 4-4 within the division and will play 12 out of their remaining 21 games  against teams from the Sherwood Division. Flin Flon is winless in their last four and are: 3-5-0-2 in their last ten. Nipawin are 4-4-1-1 in their last ten, and have one of the best scoring threats in the league in Tad Kozan ,who leads the league in goals with 27 and is third in points with 40.

Don't forget ticket prices are a special $5.00 right across the board for walk ups tonight, so no excuse not to make your way to the rink and cheer the Bombers on.

No broadcast tonight, but we will broadcast the game against Laronge this Saturday 7:30 at the Whitney Forum.
