Bombers Eager To Get Back On Ice

After a 6 day rest the Flin Flon Bombers will be back on the ice tonight as they will host the Kindersley Klippers.

The Klippers come in well rested as well as their last game was Saturday when they came from behind to beat Melville.

There is a lot of talk about Kindersley so far, with their great start at 3-0. They are ranked fifth in the country and are one of two undefeated teams in the league.

Kindersley has filled the back of the net - scoring 14 goals while giving up 6. The Bombers who are expected to be one of the league's best offensive teams have only scored 5 while giving up 7.

It is very early in the season and after only 3 games, it is very tough to form any solid oppinions. The Bombers should be able to build off their power play which seems to be coming around after scoring twice against Nipawin on Saturday.

Brett Boehm is back and has been able to create some good chemistry with Rasmussen and Grenier, who should be lots of fun to watch as a unit this season.

The big challenge for Flin Flon will be to play an entire 60 minutes. They did not do that when they opened up in Melfort and had a bit of a let down in the second period to Nipawin. They still could of very well won the game and almost pulled it out late in the third.

Mike Reagan the Head Coach and General Manager of the Bombers is looking forward to this weekend:" I think it is a challenge for us, we haven't played the best hockey coming out of the gate here. We have a good core, we have had a lot of turn over, it is taking a little longer for us to gel than I thought, but with a new team comes new challenges. Kindersley are a good team with some good young players and if we can get 2 wins this weekend nobody will be talking about the first 3 games of the season."

Mike Reagan was also very impressed with the recent showcase in Warmen: " The Showcase was great, a lot of our guys performed well. I know Danys Chartrand and Tyson Empey got a lot of interest from Division 1 schools including some big ones like North Dakota, Ohio State, and Nebraska. Some of our other guys Dillan McCombie, Cam Blair, and Robbie Cameron were also talking to schools. Our guys did very well and it was a great weekend and this was the best Showcase that I have been a part of since coming back to this league."

The Bombers took 3 out of 4 from Kindersley last season and have matched up well with them the last several seasons. All the action is tonight and tomorrow 7:30 at the one and only Whitney Forum. CFAR-590 and flinflononline.com will have the call for tomorrow night's game.

See you at the rink.
