Bomber AGM Highlights

The Flin Flon Bombers hosted their annual general meeting earlier tonight in the Green room at the Flin Flon Community Hall.

Travis Rideout was re-elected for President for a two year term and is very excited with how his first year at the helm went.

Rideout said , they have a very positive motivated board and mentioned how big a move it was to get their own building on Main street and how that has helped in souvenir revenue.

He also said it is a pleasure to work with such a passionate club and fan base and to get Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan re-signed for two more years.

David Brooks, who will not be staying on as Treasurer prepared an un-audited statement and said it was a decent year financially.

The club had one of their best season ticket bases in recent memory and generated over $70,000 in season ticket sales with an additional $38,000 made in the playoffs.

It was a very good year for souvenirs as the team brought in over $53,000. Due to repairs to the team's bus the club did report a loss of $3,181 at the end of the year.

All in all, Brooks said they were able to increase revenue in lots of different areas and the team continues to work hard to stay financially secure. Janice Slip was elected the new Treasurer for the next two years.

Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan thanked all the fans, billets, sponsors and board members for their continued hard work.

He also welcomed new Assistant Coach, Cole McCaig  who  replaces long time assistant Gary Childerhose who has moved on to Kindersley. McCaig will also serve as the team's marketing director.

Reagan said, even though they lost in the first round to the eventual League Champion Battleford Stars, he deemed the season a success.

Reagan noted it was one of the tightest locker rooms he has seen and thought his players were very motivated and committed to the program.

He did mention they lost a lot of fire power up front and he would be re-cruiting heavilly to re- tool offensively for the up coming season.

The Bombers will prepare for the league meetings in Nipawin this weekend and Reagan said it should be an interesting weekend. " Obviously we have the draft and I think there is going to be some talk about realignment around the league and playoff formats and stuff like that. I think there are going to be some interesting conversations coming ahead of us here, and every year there seems to be a curve ball thrown at you and hopefully we can hit it out of the park."
