Flin Flon Gains Revenge

It was a totally different looking Flin Flon Bomber team last night as they erupted for a 9-1 bounce back win against the Laronge Ice Wolves.

The Bomber powerplay was on fire, erupting for three straight goals courtesy of Hein who collected his 32nd and 33rd goals of the year and Houle chipping in with his 10th.

Flin Flon took a commanding 5-0 lead after 1 and never looked back. Many players had multi point games including Nate Hooper who had 4 points including a goal and 3 assists, Isaac Jackson  4 assists, Hein, 2 goals and 1 assist and Crystopher Collin collecting 3 assists.

Caleb Franklin added 2 goals and Reid Robertson scored his first ever SJHL goal when he was left all alone in front of the Ice Wolf net.

The Bombers chased starting goalie Daniel Davidson early in the second, when he gave up his fourth goal on 14 shots. Jordan Frey came in and stopped 38 out of 43 the rest of the way.

Specialty teams were a big part of this game with Flin Flon going 5 for 8 including 4 goals on their first 4 chances. Laronge was 0 for 4.

Jacob Delorme got the start and picked up his 6th win of the season and ended up with 21 saves on 22 shots. Jake Gudjunson was the only player to beat him with a goal 25 seconds into the third period.

This was a huge win for the Bombers who snapped a three game losing streak and also gave themselves some momentum for this weekend when they travel to Yorkton and Melville.

Flin Flon improves to 20-12-0-2 and remain third in the Sherwood and 7th overall. They did pick up a little ground on 6th place Humboldt and are 3 points back of the Broncos with 3 games in hand.

The Bombers face the high flying Yorkton Terriers on Friday night from the Farell Agencies Arena. This will be the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams with the Terriers taking 2 out of 3. Flin Flon does get a bit of a break as Yorkton's leading scorer Jared Legien has been recalled to thr WHL.
