The Flin Flon Bombers will try to shake off a 5-4 set back to the Yorkton Terriers Saturday, when they return to the ice to face the Estevan Bruins tonight at the Whitney Forum.
This will be the team's second meeting of the season with the Bombers winning convincingly at Affinity Place 7 to 2 , just 10 days ago.
Estevan is coming into tonight's game with a loss in Nipawin last night where they were shut out 2 to 0. Saying that the Bruins are playing better hockey since picking up goaltender Grant Boldt from the US.
Boldt just picked up the SJHL Goalie Of The Week and has some pretty decent numbers since taking over the crease, including a 2-3 record with a very good save percentage at .930 and GAA of 2.01.
Estevan picked by many as one of the favorites this season, is a disappointing 7 and 8 so far and sit second in the Viterra Division.
The Bombers looked like they found their groove picking up 7 out of a possible 8 points on their Southern road swing but had a tough time with Yorkton this past weekend.
Flin Flon almost blew a 5 goal lead on Friday and did cough up a 2 goal lead on Saturday. The Maroon and White still find themselves in a good spot at 9-5-0-2 and are tied with Nipawin for first place in the Sherwood Division.
Brandson Hein continues to lead the way with MVP numbers as he is first in points with 30, goals-17, and short handed goals with 3.
Offense is not a problem as the Bombers have four players in the top ten in league scoring with Marchi in fourth spot with 24, Hooper fifth with 23 and Moretz sixth with 21 points.
Flin Flon as a team lead the league with 72 goals scored in just 16 games. Their big challenge will be to keep the puck out of their net as they have surrendered 51 which has them ranked 7th overall.
Game time is 7:30 tonight and we will not have the broadcast. We are back on the air Friday against Weyburn with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10 and drop of the puck at 7:30.
