Golf Club AGM Highlights

The Phantom Lake Golf Club held their AGM last night at the Clubhouse. There was a very good turn out and despite the weather in August and September it was another good year for the golf club.

Murray Skeavington addressed the crowd and thanked the many people who continue to make a difference year after year. He thanked Brett Stephenson and his ground crew for their countless hours looking after the terain, the Pro- Shop crew, volunteers and members.

Murray also thanked Sandy Doran who is retiring after 7 years running the kitchen and mentioned that she will definately be missed. Jim Glynn was also thanked for his dedication and many years of service.

Memberships were up for the first time in many years with 323 the official count.

This Friday will be the last day on the course and Brett the grounds keeper said they will start their preparation for winter maintenance on Saturday.

One of the challenges and plan for moving forward will be to get more Junior golfers coming out to hopefully improve the numbers and enjoy the course.

Congratulations to the new elected members of the executive Ray Shirran and Evynn Labarre.

The Golf Club will also begin preparations to bring in a new pro for next year and possibly a Pro Shop manager.
