Bombers Lose Wild One To Yorkton

It was a game that resembled an old Oiler's , Flames tilt from the 80's with all kinds of goals between the Flin Flon Bombers and Yorkton Terriers last night at the Showcase in Warman.

When it was all said and done Yorkton picked up the 6-5 victory, almost blowing a two goal lead on two differant occasions.

Yorkton jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on goals from Keenleyside, legien and Petruic midway through the first period. This would chase Jacob Delorme from the game stopping 5 out of 8 shots. Owen Hunter came in to replace him.

The goalie switch sparked the Bombers, who found the back of the net twice courtesy of Daylan Marchi, his third and fourth of the season, to make it a 3-2 game after 1.

The teams would combine for 5 more goals in the second with Caleb Moretz adding a pair and Brandson Heine scoring his team leading 6th. Bruchkowski and Legien with his second of the night replied for the Terriers.

It was all even steven, 5-5 heading into the third. The teams would tighten up defensively with just the one goal in the final  period when Chantz Petruic scored his second of the game with just  over 5 minutes remaining in regulation for the 6-5 Yorkton victory.

A disappointing game from the Bombers stand point who doubled the Terriers in shots 46-23. Hunter stopped 12 of 15 after coming in to replace Delorme.

Ben Laidlaw went the distance for Yorkton stopping 41 out of 46.

Flin Flon is back at .500 after splitting their two games at the Showcase and will be back at the Whitney Forum this weekend to face the Melville Millionaires , who the Bombers shut out 4-0 on Tuesday.

We will broadcast Saturday's game on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com beginning with the Great North GM Coach's Show starting at 7:15.
