Nice Bounce Back

It was a nice bounce back game for the Flin Flon Bombers who blanked the Melville Millionaires 4-0 earlier today at the SJHL Showcase in Warman.

Fresh off a weekend sweep at the hands of the Nipawin Hawks the Bombers rebounded nicely to collect their third win of the season.

The usual suspects led Flin Flon offensively with Brandson Hein scoring his team leading fourth and fifth of the year.  Captain Nate Hooper and rookie sensation Vincent Nardone both scored their third of the year.

Edmonton's Pierce Diamond picked up his third straight win and also first career SJHL shutout, stopping all 29 shots he faced. Veteran Colby Entz took the loss for the Mills giving up 4 goals on 34 shots.

Neither team could get the powerplay going with Melville going 0 for 8, and Flin Flon finished 0 for 4. The Bombers did get a short handed goal courtesy of Brandson Hein.

Flin Flon improves to 3-2 and will face Yorkton tomorrow night, 8 PM, Manitoba time. Melville will fall to 1-3-0-1 and will close out the Showcase against Humboldt on Wednesday.

The Bombers and Mills will also play a double header at the Whitney Forum this Friday and Saturday. 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will broadcast Saturday's game.
