It is game number 58 for the Flin Flon Bombers who will close out the SJHL regular season tonight against the Laronge Ice Wolves at the Whitney Forum.
With the come from behind win over Melfort on Tuesday, the Bombers locked down 9th place and will host game 1 of the best of 3 Survivor Series on Sunday.
Flin Flon still doesn't know who they will play as Notre Dame leads Weyburn by 1 point for 7th. The Wings are in Yorktin tonight and need a victory to leap frog the Hounds. If Weyburn loses or ties, Notre Dame will finish 7th and play Melville, and the Wings will face the Bombers.
I am sure there will be a lot of scoreboard watching tonight.
Mike Reagan is expected to sit a few of his regulars as the Bombers are a bit banged up and do not have a lot of time to get rest for Sunday.
Nik Anderson, Flin Flon's third string goalie is expected to get the start tonight.
Laronge comes to town reeling, losing 8 out of their last 10 and will miss the playoffs for the second straight year with only 10 wins on the entire season.
How ever the Wolves have played the Bombers tough and have beaten them three times including a 4-3 OT win in Flin Flon on January the 19th. Laronge also mounted a nice third period come back in their last meeting, dropping a 7-6 SO loss on February the 3rd.
Wins have not been easy against the Wolves and I expect them to play their hearts out and try to wrap up their season with a win.
The Bombers look good heading into the post season with a record of: 11-8-2-2 since Christmas and are starting to find ways to win on the road.
Flin Flon only had two road wins before Christmas, but have reeled off 6 in the past couple of months.
Game time is 7:30 tonight and 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will have the broadcast, plus all the playoff games.
You can pick up your playoff tickets today at the Bomber office at the Community Hall, between 12-4.
