The Norman Northstars were in Portage this past weekend for the Manitoba Midget AAA Showcase.

Norman started the weekend with a 5-2 loss to Central Plains on Friday with Flin Flon's  Freddie Ledoux picking up 1 assist.

It looked like Norman would get their first win on the season on Saturday as they had Brandon down 4-2 late in the second period. The Wheat Kings fought back and ended up taking the game 5-4 in the shoot out, with the Northstars picking up their first point of the year.

Sunday, Norman jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on Parkland but couldn't hang on and lost 8-5.

Jordan Pfoh and Mitchell Reid both scored in a losing cause.

After the weekend the Northstar record will fall to 0-9-0-0-1 and will host the Interlake Lightning this weekend. Interlake is 2-6 on the season.
