The Premier of Manitoba and Mayor of Winnipeg recognised the athletes who won medals at the 2017 Canada Summer games back in August including two brothers from Flin Flon.


There was a special ceremony at the Lesislative building yesterday, where the winning athletes received the Order Of The Buffalo Hunt Awards.


Manitoba athletes won 42 medals which was a new record for the province including 10 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals. Manitoba also received the Centennial Cup as the most improved team from the previous Canada Summer Games.


Flin Flon's Carson and Hunter Lee were a big part of Manitoba's team and both took home medals in wrestling.  Hunter a Gold in the 98kg Male, and Carson a Silver in the 76kg Male.


They became the first  brothers to ever win Gold and Silver from Flin Flon and Northern Manitoba.
