Back In The Series

Greyson Reitmeier's second goal of the game on the power-play early in the third period stood up as the game winner as the Bombers held off Nipawin 3-2 last night at the Whitney Forum.

Flin Flon is now back in the series trailing the best of 7 SJHL Semi Final 2 games to 1. The other Bomber goal came from Nate Hooper who batted a puck out of the air for his second of the playoffs in the second period.

This was the first time the Bombers had the lead in the series and would not relinquish it. The Hawks got goals from Bolden and Arnold.

One of the big stories from game 3 was Declan Hobbs getting the start in goal for Nipawin. He started his first game of the playoffs and stopped 31 out of 34 shots and I thought played pretty well for the situation he was put in.

No explanation was given from Doug Johnson about the status of the SJHL Goalie Of The Year Kristian Stead and it will be interesting to see if he gets back between the pipes tonight.

Zac Robidoux started his 8th straight playoff game and turned back 25 out of 27 Nipawin shots including a penalty shot from Grant Baetsen in the second period.

Baetsen has already been a big story in the series with 2 game winning goals. Robidoux was terrific last night and made a lot of quality timely saves and was a big factor in the win.

The Bomber powerplay scored for the second straight game and ended up being the game winning goal early in the third period.

These two teams will square off again tonight at the Cage in Nipawin and 102.9 CFAR will be there with the Murray GM Coach's Show at 8:15 and drop of the puck at 8:30.

With the Bomber win last night, there is a guaranteed game 5 Friday at the Whitney Forum.
