Bruins Double Bombers 4-2

For the first time in 2017, the Flin Flon Bombers have dropped two games in a row. After falling 3-2 to Notre Dame Saturday, the Bombers lost to Estevan 4-2 yesterday.

Flin Flon got into penalty trouble in the first period, going short handed 7 times but managed to fight through that and were dead locked at 1 after 1.

Jake Fletcher opened things up for the Bruins on the power play just 1:29 in before Connor Beebe tied the game re-directing a puck past Nathan Alalouf for his third of the season at 9:45.

No scoring in the second period, but the Bombers did take their first lead of the game when Greyson Reitmeier collected his 27th of the season on the powerplay at 2:59 to start the third period.

It looked like that might hold up as the game winner, but the Bruins turned it up a notch and scored three unanswered to steal this one at Affinity Place.

Josh Rieger scored a pair of goals at 14:27 and 18:21, before Matt McNeil would seal the deal with an empty netter with only ten seconds remaining.

Zac Robidoux suffered his first loss since December the 16th  stopping 29 out of 32 shots.

After the first period power play's evened up with both teams going 1 for 7 with the extra attacker.

Flin Flon comes back off the long road trip at 2-2 and sit at 32-12-2-3, first in the Sherwood and second overalll, but the Nipawin Hawks are quickly closing the gap.

Nipawin is just 4 points back with three games in hand. They play three more times this year including their next meeting Valentines Day at the Whitney Forum.

Next up for the Bombers will be a home and home with Laronge this wekend. Don't forget Friday's home game will be absolutely free as it is going to be " Hockey Night In Flin Flon" sponsored by Hudbay, The City Of Flin Flon, Town Of Creighton and Village Of Denare Beach.

Spread the word, is all you have to do is show up and you will be admitted absolutely free. Other highlights include a documentary being filmed about Flin Flon and the Bombers. A group out of New York will be filming and interviewing people with stories to tell.

A 50/50 will also start at $1,000.00 courtesy of Twin Motors and last year someone took home over 6 grand. So make sure you buy a ticket and game time is 7:30.
