Bombers Hit 30 Wins

It was just another night at the office for the Flin Flon Bombers who knocked off the struggling Laronge Ice Wolves 6-2 at the Whitney Forum Saturday night.

Flin Flon has hit 30 wins on the season and have also won their last 15 in a row on home ice.

Greyson Reitmeier continues to be one of the best players in the league night in and night out and picked up 4 points to move to  within just 2 points of Notre Dame's Ben Duperreault for the overall scoring lead.

Reitmeier has 60 points in 45 games including 22 goals.

Hooper, Lavallee, Etter and new comer Teal Sobkowicz also scored. For Sobkowics this is  his second in a Bomber uniform since being picked up January the 10th from Estevan.

It was a big night for third string goalie Gunnar Neilson who picked up his first win in a Bomber uniform stopping 29 out of 31 Laronge shots and looked pretty sharp and composed for his first start since December the 17th.

Neilson has been patient waiting his turn and Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan has desribed him as the perfect team mate. He never complains about not playing and has fit in very well with the locker room and displays a very positive attitude.

It was great to witness his first Bomber win and nobody on the squad deserved this more than he did, as he got mobbed by his team mates after the win on Saturday.

Flin Flon will improve to 30-10-2-3 on the season and remain first in the Sherwood, 8 points up on a red hot Nipawin Hawk squad who have won 7 in a row and are not letting the Bombers get to comfortable atop the division.

The Bombers and Hawks will square off three more times this season including the final regular season game March the 7th at the Whitney Forum.

Flin Flon also remain second overall, 10 points behind Battleford with 13 games left. Mike Reagan says their goal is to catch Battleford, but will be more than happy to grab one of the top three seeds.

Next up will  be a 4 game in 5 night road trip which starts Wednesday in Melfort where the Bombers have dropped their last two meetings. Then it is off to Melville Thursday, Notre Dame Saturday and Estevan Sunday afternoon.

102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will have all 4 broadcasts with Raphael Saray making the trip to bring the action to all of Northern Manitoba and the world.

Remember we hit the air with the Murray GM Coach's Show 15 minutes before the opening face off.
