The Flin Flon Bombers remain perfect in 2017 thanks to a 4-0 win over Notre Dame on Saturday night at the Whitney Forum .
Fresh off doubling Yorkton 4-2 on Friday, the Bombers came out hitting everything in sight and had one of their most physical games I have seen i recent memory. Big hits were coming from everywhere including Ben Lanferman, Jason Lavallee, Nick Shumlanski and Jordan McCausland.
After a bit of a slow first period, the Bombers started to pull away in the second , when Rylee Zimmer opened things up with his 16th of the season scoring short handed.
Zimmer flew down the ice and grabbed a loose puck in the left corner and fooled Hound netminder Benjamin Patt with a quick shot through his legs, which stood up as the game winner.
Zimmer remains one of the hottest players in the league and now has 14 points in his last 10 games and sits 5th overall in league scoring with 48 points in 41 games.
Other goals in the second period came from Lavallee his team leading 20th of the year and Williams added his 5th on the power play.
Flin Flon would put the icing on the cake with a power play goal from Jordan McCausland early in the third period.
Brenden Newton did his job stopping all 22 shots fired in his direction for his second shut out of the year. The Bombers lead the league in shut outs with 6.
The Bombers improve to 4-0 in 2017 and have won 6 in a row dating back to the final weekend of 2016.
With their two wins Saturday they sit at 27-10-2-2 and are 9 points up on Nipawin with the Hawks still enjoying three games in hand. Flin Flon is also second overall, 11 points back of Battleford.
Flin Flon won't have to wait to long to see Yorkton again as they head to the Farrell Agencies Arena to face the Terriers in a pair of games this weekend.
They will play Friday at 7:30 and a special 3PM start on Saturday to accomodate the Terriers Sportsman's Dinner.
Both games will be broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com, with the Murray GM Coach's Show 15 minutes before the opening faceoff.
