Kodiaks Host Birch Hils

It is official,  the Creighton Kodiaks will host the Birch Hills Marauders in their very first Provincial Playoff game this Saturday.

The Kodiaks fresh off their second straight Ralph Pilz Trophy should get their toughest test to date, with the Marauders who compete against bigger schools in Conference 4.

Birch Hills is 4-2 on the season and went into Shellbrook and beat them a couple weekends ago to qualify for this game.

Creighton is 12-0 lifetime and did not give up a single point to Churchill last weekend in defense of their second straight Northern Saskatchewan Football title.

Ryan Karakochuk says he feels his team will stack up very well. " This is a special game for us, we get one more crack at home and I expect a big crowd. For  Birch Hills we are going to show them we have a strong program here and a legacy we hope to build. Whether we win or not we are going to give them a battle. They are going to know how good our football program is after this game."

Jordan Panagabko feels the fact that they had a close game with Churchill this past weekend will help his team. " Winning by 30 or 40 points is nice, but you don't put up a fight like you need to and our defense played so good, it really pumped us up."

All the festivities will get underway with a tailgate party starting at 2 including free hotdogs and drinks. Kick-off is at 3 and there will be an admission of $5.00 for adults and$3.00 for students. SHSAA requires that Creighton charge an admission. With admission you will receive a chance to win a Kodiaks hoodie.

102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will have full results.
